1. Tag Arrival in San José
Individual arrival in San José. Welcome by your guide and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore on your own.
2. Tag San José - Tortuguero
Early morning departure for Guapiles, in the Tortuguero region. Breakfast at Selva Tropicale restaurant . During the trip, experience first contact with the nature of Costa Rica as you cross the bananas plantations. Arrival at Cano Blanco/ La Pavona. This is followed by boarding a large motorized pirogue on regular service to navigate the main canal that runs along the coast to the Tortuguero National Park, in the middle of the tropical forest. Lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, walk in the typical village of the Caribbean coast. Return to the hotel from the beach.
3. Tag Tortuguero National Park
Departure early in the morning and visit the jungle canals of the Tortuguero National Park, where you will meet numerous animals including: crocodiles, turtles, monkeys, iguanas, toucans, parrots and many different birds. Discover the jungle and explore walking through the paths, accompanied by your guide.
Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon discovery of the National Park by boat. After returning to the lodge, you can relax at the pool and visit the botanical gardens.
During October and November, it is the season of birth in Tortuguero, the most exciting season of the year. You will be fascinated by the discovery of these little turtles coming out of the sand. Around 4:30 p.m., you'll go with your guide to the beach to discover the birth of hundred of turtles.
4. Tag Tortuguero - Guapiles - Arenal Volcano Nationalpark
Return by boat to Cano Blanco/Pavona, and continue on the way to Guapiles. Lunch is served in a typical restaurant. Departure to the North West of the country to the city La Fortuna, located at the foot of the volcano Arenal, a characteristic site of Costa Rica, due to its perfect conical shape. Soak in the late afternoon bath in the thermal waters of Baldi. Its naturally warm pools of water will impress you, together with a memorable view of the park and volcano. Dinner in the restaurant near the thermal pools.
5. Tag Arenal Volcano Nationalpark
Morning dedicated to visiting the Arenal Volcano National Park. Walk on the trails of the volcano to get to the area of the dry lava. Crossing the suspension bridges you can appreciate the wonderful scenery of the park and the enchanted sounds of the forest.
Afterwards, visit 250 hectares of primary forest reserve and take advantage of the 15 suspension bridges (between 5 and 100 meters) to observe the fauna and flora of the Arenal, with the perspective from a height, à traverso 3 km. You can contemplate the vegetation and animals that your expert guide will help you locate. The bridges are made of aluminum and steel, to ensure maximum safety. Accessible to all.
Then you will meet Costa Rican family, to learn about their way of life, habits local specialties. You will witness a demonstration of a "trapiche", and then you can admire the traditional way of grinding sugar cane. Dinner at the home of a local family.
6. Tag Arenal Volcano Nationalpark - Guanacaste
Departure for the region of Guanacaste, one of the warmest tropical regions in the country. Here you can find a large property of cattle breeding and some guys who are real "cowboys."
Arrival in the area of the Rincon de la Vieja National Park and discover the spas del Rio Negro, famous for its volcanic baths in the nature.
7. Tag Rincon de la Vieja Nationalpark
Early morning departure for the visit of the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, classified as the Patrimonio Natural of Unesco. Walk in the vast park, rare geological wonder on the planet. The earth opens into seething craters that showcase the current activity of the volcano. During the visit you can admire a dense forest inhabited by howler monkeys.
The order of visits to the Rincon de la Vieja Park can be changed by the park management.
Continue the hike in the lodge's trails.
8. Tag Rincon de la Vieja Nationalpark - San José
Departure to San Jose. Visit the village of Sarchi, famous for its crafts, made from the region's fine and colorful wood. Lunch at a local restaurant during the course of the excursion Continue to visit San Jose, a perfect example of a Central American capital, with its architecture that mixes modern palaces with the Republican style of the late 19th century. In the Barrio Amon, you will see the ancient houses of the Barons of Coffee that demonstrate the great wealth of the country.
9. Tag San José - Departure
